Transitions

As the seasons begin to shift, I find myself blending elements in my art to ease the transition. I'm reminded that change is inevitable and constantly surrounds us. Sometimes, it's much more apparent—like the first snowfall, which I expect is still some time away. However, the days are getting shorter, the garden is transforming, and while I eagerly awaited my first pumpkins, the local critters had other plans, so I won't have any homegrown pumpkins this year. Nonetheless, I did enjoy my small sunflowers, and I attended the Sunflower Bloom Festival in Concord, NH, where I saw fields of towering sunflowers that reminded me of the landscapes in Tuscany.

And this gave me plenty of inspirations for new work. I am continuing to enjoy pushing the color harmonies but I expect with the fall approaching I will start to drift back to more tonal works. Transitions and change.
