Having Fun with Blue and Yellow

Sometimes I find a color I just want to keep painting with it over and over. It's like when you used to have a few very special crayons and wore them to the nib. I have been experimenting with blue and its compliment yellow and I am having so much fun.

Making blue darker, lighter, warmer, cooler, mixing it with other colors I wouldn't usually mix. And yellow is so tricky to darken and lighten without losing its intensity.

These are the colors of the summer in New Hampshire - the lakes, blueberries, clear skies, black eyed susans, coreopsis, warm sunlight, fresh corn, new mowed hay, summer squash.

Come see what I've been up to! Stay tuned for more. I have a few works in progress on my easel now.
