A Season of Letting Go

The birds have begun their quiet departure, and already I miss their familiar songs, their flashes of color, and the life they bring to my yard.
There is something bittersweet about this season of letting go. The world grows quieter, the days grow shorter, and nature reminds us that not everything is meant to stay. Some must leave to find warmth elsewhere, while others remain, adapting to the cold and finding what they need in the stark beauty of winter.
I look forward to watching those who stay — the brave little souls who weather the storms, who carry on when the world grows bare, who remind us that there is a different kind of beauty in endurance.
Perhaps there is wisdom in both the leaving and the staying. In knowing when to seek warmer skies, and when to put down roots and trust that we have what it takes to make it through.
For now, I’ll miss the ones who have gone, and look forward to the quiet company of those who remain.
